The NJACT Lifetime Achievement Award is one of the most coveted Perry Awards given each year. The recipient of this award is determined by an NJACT board vote based on nomination letters submitted by the theater community. The purpose of the award is to celebrate a special individual's outstanding lifetime contribution to New Jersey community theater.

Rules and Criteria
The following rules and criteria must be met to be considered for the NJACT Lifetime Achievement Award:
- All submissions for this award must be written in narrative form.
- Resumes may be submitted as supplemental material

- Any person may nominate himself or herself or another person.
- Persons who have received a Lifetime Achievement Award after 1998 are no longer eligible for the award.
- Nominees should show at least ten years of active participation in New Jersey community theater.
- Nominees should show involvement in many aspects of theater.
- Nominees should show involvement with more than one theater.
- Nominees should show involvement with promoting theater’s responsibility to youth, senior and special needs organizations.
- Nominees should show significant contribution to New Jersey Community Theater.
